Hallo Bruce-Maniacs grad eben ereilte uns eine News in Sachen Stone Pony Club. Der altehrwürdige und längst legendäre Club wurde wegen Reparaturen vorübergehend geschlossen. Die Kult-Pilgerstätte aller Springsteen-Fans wird, gemäß Aussage des Stadtdirektors, grundrenoviert.

Für unser Fanherz ist das eine sehr erfreudige Nachricht, zumal in der Vergangenheit immer wieder davon geredet wurde, den Club endgültig zu schließen. Wie dem auch sei, sollten wir näheres erfahren in Sachen Stone Pony Club, informieren wir Euch umgehend.

ASBURY PARK, N.J. – The bar that helped launch Bruce Springsteen’s career is grounded for at least a month. The Stone Pony in Asbury Park is closing temporarily for roof maintenance and repair. The city’s director of code enforcement tells the Asbury Park Press of Neptune that the club’s owners reported severe roof leaks and closed the club voluntarily to do the necessary repairs.

Shows scheduled for the historic club over the next month have been relocated or postponed. Springsteen grew up in nearby Freehold and performed regularly at the Stone Pony in the 1970s. He has dropped by the club unannounced in recent years for impromptu performances.
