Pressemitteilung:

Die amerikanische Musicares Foundation wurde 1989 von der „National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences“ (den Ausrichtern der Grammy Awards) gegründet und zeichnet jedes Jahr Personen und Institutionen aus, die sich auf dem Gebiet der karitativen Arbeit besonders verdient gemacht haben, z. B. durch die Unterstützung sozialer oder medizinischer Projekte.

2013 wurde Bruce Springsteen mit einem Preis als „Person Of The Year“ ausgezeichnet,  und Musicares veranstaltete zu seinen Ehren in Los Angeles ein Tribute-Konzert, das jetzt als DVD und Blu-ray erscheint: neben einer Vielzahl von Künstlern, die jeweils einen Springsteen-Song performen (u. a. Patti Smith, Mumford and Sons, Kenny Chesney, Juanes, die Alabama Shakes, Jackson Browne, Emmylou Harris, Elton John, Sting, Neil Young, Mavis Staples und Zac Brown) performt Bruce Springsteen mit seiner E Street Band selbst auch fünf seiner eigenen Songs: „We Take Care Of Our Own“, „Death To My Hometown“, „Thunder Road“ und „Glory Days“, wobei er beim letztgenannten Titel von einer Allstar-Band aller beteiligten Künstler unterstützt wird. 2 Stunden und fünfzehn Minuten zu Ehren von und mit einer wahren Musik-Ikone!

Pete Seegers neues Album „A More Perfect Union“ mit Bruce Springsteen

Das neue Pete Seeger Album erscheint am 24.09. 2012.

Das Album ist eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem 93-jährige Pete Seeger und Songwriter  Lorre Wyatt. Als „Gastsänger“ sind Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, Tom Morello, Emmylou Harris und Dar Williams auf dem Album. Von den 15 Seeger / Wyatt Kompositionen auf der CD  wurde nur „Wonderful Friends“  bisher veröffentlicht. Bruce singt mit ihm den ersten Song des Albums:

„God’s Counting on Me…God’s Counting on You“.

A collaboration between 93-year-old Pete Seeger, America’s best-known living singer/ songwriter/activist, and fellow singer-songwriter Lorre Wyatt. Guest vocalists include Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, Tom Morello (of Rage Against the Machine and The Nightwatchman, who also plays guitar on the track he sings on), Emmylou Harris, and Dar Williams. Of the 15 Seeger/Wyatt compositions included on the disc, only one has been previously recorded: Wonderful Friends, which appeared (in a different version) on Seeger’s 2008 Grammy-winning release, At 89 (APRCD 1113).
